Steel Tormentor are an old school metal band based in the wilds of north Mayo on the
west coast of Ireland.ST was formed in 1996 by guitarist & vocalist James Kelly.
It wasn't till early 2004 James found a line up stable enough to record the debut album "Unleashed".
He was joined for the recording process on drums by Seanie Walsh & bass guitar by Paul Newell.
The album was recorded engineered & produced by James in his home studio.
The album got such a great response when it was released a giging line up was put together to help promote it.In came original member John Hanly on bass Norman Rafter on guitar & Paul Donnellan on drums.
With this line up the band toured the Uk with Marshall Law, made their first appearance at the bloodstock metal festival UK , Up the hammers festival in Greece & along the way supported Saxon.
Kevin Ryder replaced Paul Donnellan on drums in March 2008 & in July 2008 John Hanly left the band.
Over a 2 week period in August & October 2008 the remaining members joined by Paul Newell on bass
(played on the unleashed album) entered remaster studio in Italy to record the 2nd album.
The album is currently in the mixing stage & will be released in early 2009.
